On a scale of 1-10, how’s your mood today?

This installation is a playful take on the standardized Bipolar Disorder mood scales. I was interested in exploring the institutionally prescribed hierarchy of moods, as well as the idea of gold standard treatment. Each golden number correlates with a distorted photograph of myself impersonating the emotional states ranging from 1-10. I attached these states using gold chain, demonstrating the tension and relationship between these embodied feelings and the rigidity of the psychiatric system.
